Found nothing but shotgun shells and discarded beer cans at what seems to be an unhunted area of unused (and permed) farmland associated with 1700s property. Then on return to truck I got a good hit, was about 8" deep. Pulled out a completely crusty seven sided coin/button about the size of a US quarter. Started doing my chicken dance.
Excitement came to realization as I cleaned it up. Saw "republi" (and wait for it...) then "Hait" ... HUH?! Some research on heptagonal coins turned up its a 1 Gourde coin from Haiti. What the HECK?!
Its still a find, and this just proves you never know whats out there!
HH everyone, im off to cleanup for my birthday dinner!
