The style of the lyre was different on many of those buttons as well. For example, see the top, center button in the photo below is CW:

The same lyre style was CW era on the Waterbury button in the following link (#GP74):

However, the backmark reads "WATERBURY BUTTON CO./CONN" rather than "WATERBURY CO.S/CONN"

The backmark on your button is one used by Waterbury since 1965.

yes the co, plain pre 65 it theres a "s" --- co.s --post 65 -- s means "modern" button
