Well since I haven't found any silver in a few weeks I thought I'd post this...thought it was a $$ old copper when I first pulled it, but I guess a dollar coin is ok
This reminds me of when I was new to metal detecting when I found a steel disc, about the size of a quarter at a school. I thought it was copper and was almost sure I had just found my first half cent and was all excited for the rest of the day. I started to get scared because I noticed it looked like iron/steel so I scraped the side to check (I would not do this to any suspect coin nowadays, I would much rather check with a magnet), sure enough it was silver colored. I was so upset that my "Half Cent" was a steel washer. Looking back I'm surprised I did not noticed the rusty steel look at first, It looked more like a nail in terms of color , there's a chance it could be an old token too but I'm pretty sure it's a washer. I still have it as a reminder of that day .
Fortunately you found out it was not a copper quickly instead of going on all day thinking you found a half cent
