Hello everyone again,
I was back at it, I try to go as much as possible at least a few hours ,a few days a week. At the local park where I live I had about 30 minutes to hunt before my wife came home. It looked like a good day hardly anyone at the park. Well I will dig a few signals then go home. After a couple of clad dimes and a few pennies, I saw I had some watchers. There was an old guy sitting on a bench, a guy and his wife riding bicycles. I also noticed they were the only ones in the park when I had arrived. Strangely enough when I got to the spot I was going to hunt there they were watching me with in 50 feet. Hmm I thought to myself, they were about 300 yards away when I entered the park now they are right where I am. Within a few minutes the one guy age I'd say 30's comes over to me and acts all interested and tells me he watches all the youtube videos and he is thinking about buying a metal detector. But what he says to me makes me weary, he says isn't it illegal to metal detect in the park?? I said NO, its legal, in fact you can obtain county and state park permission if you so desire to. Well after 25 minutes, I realized my time is up and I need to get home. As I am packing up my gear I look to my right and there is a police officer driving in his car. He stops and asks me if I found anything good? I have talked to them in the past and have never had an issue with them at this park. I just happened to have a 50 caliber bullet and a few silver coins I had dug previous week. After speaking with the police officer and showing him a few finds. He asks me if I have identification on me. First thought I am thinking I am getting a citation. He states that they have received a call for divots in the park! I explain to him that I do the best job I can, I carry a bag with me and remove all the trash, and pick up all the surface trash that I see on the ground. I told him I always try to do the best job that I can repairing the hole. After showing him my big bag of trash; cans, can tops, nails, pull tabs, bottle caps, shredded cans and foil. He knows that what I am saying is true about cleaning up the park and fixing the holes as best as I can. He tells me that I am not in any trouble, I am not receiving any citations and I am welcome to come back and metal detect anytime I choose to. I am sure glad that I follow the code and dig and take the trash with me. Make me wonder if that guy that was talking to me earlier called on me. Funny how he was hanging out in the area while I was talking to the cop. I think he was the culprit... The next day I returned to the same park and hunted for a few hours found a few clad quarters and a clad dime and penny and this ring. I was using my ctx3030 and got a 13-46 signal at 6inches of depth. Does anyone know how old this ring is? Or anything more about it? Thanks,
