Two hours at the bulldozed area produced this coin this morning.? It's the exact size of a quarter and made of bronze.? The front says "United States of America 1944" the back says "One Centavo Filipinas".? I didn't know they existed but it's apparently an occupation coin from the Philippines in 1944.? There probably aren't many in Kansas.?I looked them up and find that they're worth 50 cents to $8.? Of course I never sell any of my finds anyway.
There is some trash in the area, beverage cans, bottle caps, etc., but I dig all of the coin signals.? The bulldozer just dug deep enough to get the roots of the brush in the area and that's just right for exposing buried coins.? When they start grading for? construction it will mix up the dirt again for some more good hunting.? One good thing about an area like this is that you don't have to repair your holes!

Nice unique find. Probably came back with some GI some time after the war. Sometimes the less valuable pieces become the best finds. Congrats...Lance
