Nice find, any reason you included photos of a dog dragging around a dead animal?

Looks like a great hunt VB and your dog must be fast. My dog couldn't catch a cold :tongue3:

My MIL used to skin them, pan fry lightly and then pressure cook. I really liked them that way!

Actually they out run him in short distances and then they go up a tree but today, the squirrel decided to go up a plant pole, and leap up onto the pine tree branch, but since it was raining and wet, he slipped into Toby's clutches!!!
 

That colonial spur is a great find Ina. I've been trying to ID it but my books don't show one like yours as I think its pre-Rev War. Since many of the finds we've made at this site date to the 1600s and 1700s I think it's a safe bet to say this is a very early one. Can you see any markings on it?

Dogs do what dogs do! I remember as a kid hunting squirrels, the thing that sticks in my mind the most was how easy it was to skin them. Nail one part to a tree, and pull!

looks late 1700s to me
