Folks,

Detected a circa 1900 park in my area...managed a bit of loot for the coffee jar, them a 1945 silver dime and a bit of a nitro moment the ring is gold colored but no markings and the weight is on the light side.

There's also a confederation token from 1967 in there somewhere.

Tuberale,

Given that it's costume jewelry I'm assuming the stone is just cut glass.

Bill, what kind of stone is that? There are hold-fasts on the side of the setting ... might be?

Sweet! A blood pumper!

Yours looks a lot better than the last one i found, it was rusted, and stamped 14K! :(

Congrats on the silver! Woo Hoo!

Great finds keep pluggin away!!!

Cool hunt! Better than I done today, went on my 1st river/water hunt...found a junk watch, a bunch of pull tabs, bottle caps and some clad... ( my first and second targets were both 1965 Washingtons)....ugh, imagine that...but I'm sure that ring was a heart stopper!...ddf

dirtdigginfool,

We all have days like that sometimes just a bit of clad and the usual junk but it's days when we find a keeper or two that keeps us going in this crazy hobby..lol.

That's a Nice looking ring! And a Nice find for the land... How's the water up there, has to be on the decline.

OBN,

The water levels in the nearby lake are rather low, but since I detect mostly land it doesn't really come into play in my case.

Also all along the shore line it's large beach stones so about the only way to detect would be eyeball since it's next to impossible to dig.

Bill, you're exactly right! I could have found nothing but trash and had a good time, my first river hunt was a learning experience and can't wait to go back soon, I had a beautiful, warm, sunny day off that I spent with the wife, and she would swing my machine as I kept scouring the riverbed for targets. Kudos to our good friend Againstthewind for an in-depth, personal tutorial on water hunting. Thx Bill, GL, HH....ddf
