Thought I would share my 1857 Flying Eagle that I pulled from a hunt that I did with "Walk the Dog" and his son. We found a few indians too. This area was another house foundation in Bradford County PA.

Great find. Congrats. It cleaned up very nicely.

Beautiful find, smokedaddy!

Congrats! The very first coin I bought was an 1857 in fine condition. I was about ten and thought it was really cool to own a coin 100 years older than me. If I ever find another, it would be awesome!

Way to go! It is an an awesome find, I hope to find one some day. :icon_thumright:

It looked to be in wonderful shape. We see them posted here occasionally, but most are pretty toasted. Congrats on a great find.

Awesome FE cent -- put a little bees wax or Verdi-Care on it to bring out the detail and hydrate it a bit.

Nice save, the one I found was also toasted as are many.

Hi all, thanks for the kind comments. It was dug in a wooded area next to the foundation. Im sure as in most other field dug coppers, the fertilizer shows no mercy.. I have been using 0000 steel wool on a lot of my coppers and give them a light rub. The results are nice enough to make them presentable..
