FLORIDA Bull's Head Pin

Hello All. Found this at 1900 to 1940's saw mill site.

It is 1-7/8 IN across the horns and 1-1/4 IN tall...not magnetic...probably brass or maybe copper. On the back I can see what looks like "Whitman" and "Chicago". Can't see much else except of course "FLORIDA" on the front.

Any ideas are appreciated. HH C9

I believe the makers marks are Whitehead & Hoag Newark, NJ. There's just enough there to recognize the mark of this popular old medal maker
Added: I can't figure out anything on what it was for. I suspect it had another section hanging from the hole in it that might have been more readily identifiable. They made a lot of fraternal medals, but I can't figure where this would be one of them.

Agree with nhbenz, Whitehead and Hoag, an old badge maker. This appears to be the top part to a suspension badge or medal, probably a Florida delegate to a Cattlemen's convention. There would have been a pin attached laterally across the the top of the reverse, to pin it to a shirt. Another part of the medal would hang from the bottom loop hole. Sub 8-)
