Went to a flea market thatā€™s about 45 minutes from my home today. Boy am I glad I did! I purchased all my items in the first two rows in about 25 minutes or so. My first purchase was a pair of percussion cap double barrel pistols. Now I know they are rough ( to say the least). But as my philosophy goes, everything deserves to tell its story. I paid $15.00 for the two and was like a kid in a candy store. Iā€™m thinking circa 1840. Maybe earlier and converted from flintlock. I have a couple of contacts in the area that know old guns so Iā€™ll probably have them take a look at them at some point in time.

Next up is a pair of S&P shakers with sterling tops and a 9/11 tribute silver eagle 1 oz round. I asked the seller how much the shakers were and he replied, ā€œ Theyā€™re $12.00 and have sterling tops.ā€ I then noticed the coin and realized it was a silver eagle. I put it with the shakers and say how about all of this. He says $14.00. I of course say how about $12 for all of it. He replies ā€œ letā€™s meet in the middle at $13.00.ā€ I couldnā€™t freakin pull my money out fast enough! [emoji38] He had no idea it was a 2001 silver round! Once a pirate, always a pirate! Last was a nice long country bench for my patio for $10.00. Not a bad day at all.

Huh, Looks like those old pistols have been sitting in the bard for a long time. They look like they were converted from 2 old shotguns? Are there any marks on them? I think I'd make an old rustic bard wood mount for them as cool wall hanger.

Thereā€™s a design on the top of the barrel on one but canā€™t really make it out. I donā€™t think theyā€™re from a shotgun as they did make this style way back then. I agree that they may have been in a damp barn for a billion years. They look like hell but still very cool.

Yeah that does look like a proof mark of some kind. There's a few sites online with listings of various old firearms proof marks, so maybe it's possible to identify when and where they came from with a little research.

Cool guns. Nice score on the silver eagle and S&P

I sure like the pistols...congratulations on the nice purchases! :occasion14:
