Just when you think you have beaten a place to death, up comes a few more. The items below are from a couple of short hunts, the most productive being Sunday. As stated in a past thread, I simply cannot get a coin from the Heyday of the little ghost town I am hunting (1812 thru the Civil War). Just can't leave it alone knowing that somewhere among all the square nails and iron lies that coin. The particular field I found these relics in adjoins the water common for the town. Literally dozens of flat buttons, thimbles, a pocket watch, and a few bullets and buttons from the Civil War. Still no cigar on a period coin, but can't fuss too much when I am digging buttons, round balls, and silver. I have been hitting it a bit in all metal as of late and she still coughs up a few goodies. HH

Really nice finds! Awesome detail on that coin! Congrats!
Your older coins are there just waiting.

Found a neat trick on viewing and photographing coins. A bright light coming in from the side vs using flash or light source from above makes a coin with even mediocre detail look like it is a foot deep. This coin as an example has a good bit of wear, but looks great when lighted form the side. Appreciate the compliment and HH.

Great barber, and look at all them buttons!!
Great site!!

Hey those are some great finds bud. That one button is real nice and a couple with a bit of silver showing. And of course a silver dime is always great. T2 in all metal is a monster. Your old coin will come. Just keep digging holes brother

It's encouraging when people find things in pounded out sites. That Barber is a beauty.

Very nice finds. 1800s silver has eluded me, so I am impressed. GL&HH.

Nice Finds .
Flat Buttons are scarce in the areas I hunt.

Davers

You know there gotta be a large cent or early silver there!!

Nice buttons and a crisp barber to

That's a really nice barber. There should be a few more coins waiting for you. Keep at it and when you least expect it it'll come.
