I think your backmark reads "Fine Gold Surface". At least that is what I make of it. I am not familiar with that backmark but it shouldn't be too hard to ID.

Yup! Might be as early as 1810, though most are from the date range crusader said.

It's a good find! Nice flat button in typical dug condition. Most of the time the front is plain, sometimes you get lucky and find one with a design on the front. Some backmarks have history and are collectible. Your digging old dirt, keep it up!
