Flat button with design. Please help.

Found this button at a 1860s house. It has a flower dot symbol, but the dots are more like a division sign without the line. Any info would be great.

Yeppers, that would be a flat button; also known as a coin button. Some had designs; some did not. The date of 1860 for the house is the same time line as the button. During the Civil War, many Confederate soldiers used these on their uniform since the South was so poor. Neat find, Breezie
