I believe you're correct. Found W&Co. From Sheffield England and they were a plating company from 1845 until 1848 when they merged with another company. This one has some silver plating still left on the other side. Thanks for the reply.W&Co

Thanks Red-Coat your research is amazing.That may not be the same "W&Co".
Your mark, with that peculiar backward-slanting ampersand, is for William Wild and Co, registered with the Sheffield Assay Office on 23rd December 1784. Their mark is also sometimes seen as 'W.W&Co'.

They were listed as ‘plate workers’ at Trinity Street, Sheffield and operating under that name until at least 1844 but I’m not sure for how long after that. They may have become ‘William Wild & Sons’ in 1851.
