I got off work today and after getting the horses fed I went back out on my farm where I dug up a part of a old Trigger Guard yesterday. Using my headlamp after dark I found a flat button that I know has a C on it and if the light hits it right you can make out and A to the right of the C and possibly an S between the them but really not 100% sure. I want to believe it is a CSA flat button but not 100%. There was a lot of confederate activity in the area but regardless I am excited out it.

Also dug up a 1893 Indian head on my next hole which is my oldest coin yet. Pretty good hunt in the dark! I think my wife is starting to think I am crazy!

I think its a plain corroded button.

Nice score on the old flat button and lovely green Indian Head Cent. Two fine old treasures for sure. I love night hunting. I feel it's easier to concentrate on the signals with less distractions. Very peaceful too. If you're crazy then you ain't alone my friend!:hello:

Nice finds, congratulations!:occasion14:

The first finds are so sweet. You will always remember that dirty old penny.
