Found this button today, it was stamped L & Kendrick, from what I could find its from the Waterbury family and was made from 1829 -1835. This is the firs button ive found at this site with a decorative front, I'm guessing still civilian but can the front tell me anything else or is it just decoration. this button can fit easily on a dime what would a button that size come from?

The front is a civilian design. The button was made by Leavenworth and Kendrick in Waterbury CT. between 1829 and 1834.

Brass 1-piece flatbuttons smaller than a dime were primarily used for pants-fly closure, and cuff buttons.
