flashlight end cap? cuff link or earring??

two items, pics not that great, small round item has a screw post no other markings, either a cufflink or an earring? The second item has a 6 point star in the middle with numerous small stars around the edge, on the back side it has white powdery substance...Battery acid maybe?, you can also tell mabe a spring went against the back of it, sorry about the pics again, these were found at a house built in 1865

My Wild Guesses are;
you are probably correct on the flashlight theory
and on the right a 'screw-back' earring.

Along with the obvious (a better pic :hello2: ), some idea of scale will always help with an ID.
