Found this in my rock garden, I remember finding in a field where Iv'e found arrowheads. I guess I cleaned out my pockets and forgot about this one. Probably caked with dirt, then I realized what it was after the rain washed it. I think its hematite or similar. Its heavy and feels and looks somewhat like metal. It has a few plow marks so I guess it got broke that way, just guessing on what the broke piece may have looked like in the drawing. The bottom has 3 flat edges that look as if they were broke off with a chisel, the way you would score and break brick or patio blocks. the two forward edges are flaked or chiped to make like a knife edge. No signs of any hafting groves. Any ideas on this? Havn't seen much of hematite axes other than the polished ones. Maybe this is the begining stages of that.
Please post more pics if you have anything similar.
