I found this reworked point recently and having trouble with typing. The site has been mid archaic at the oldest so far. There is grinding on the lower portion of the point. I came up with Brewerton eared triangle.. but would like a couple thoughts on it. Thanks.

Looks like it to me for the base. What did they do with the tip as to the change?

In the first pic. You should be able to see the retouching on the broken edge. To make a Hafted scraper out of it.

Greenbriar would be nice. That would be my oldest from that site. I will look closer at Edgefields too. Thanks

Looks different than ours . Huh! Cool! I wander if the salt in the area caused the " pin hole" texture. ( lack of a better word ) Or, just a different variety of chert. Give me some insight . I know you did your homework!

There is alot of different types of chert/Flint and different densities of sediment material in them. True chert is silica replaced limestone. I don't want to type the whole description at the moment..but...very basically its ancient ocean sediment and skeletons of marine organisms..in some cases even algae. You also will get different colors from different minerals present during its formation.I have some you can see whole sea shells in.

I have a large scraper with a small shell in it. I'll post it some time. Thanks for the info.

I imagine they would be. Its ground on the face. Very little on the very bottom edge. What you see in the photo is all of it.
