Fixin' to get ready

Couple o' four days ago I ordered a Sherlock DTS Pro pinpointer from Southern-Treasures.com.
Today I took a look at the conformation email they sent, and copied the invoice # and pasted it into the tracker on their site.

This is what came up: Order Received - we have your order and are preparing to process it.

To me this sounds a lot like (in New Yorkese) "yeah, we got your order, but we ain't done nothin' yet."

Or as Jeff Foxworthy would put it they're "Fixin' to get ready".

I guess I'm just not used to that laid back southern way.

Here are their status's:

Order Received - we have your order and are preparing to process it

Order Backordered - we are waiting for your merchandise to be shipped from the manufacturer

Order in Accounting - the order is in our accounting department

Order in Fulfillment - the order is being fulfilled now

Order in Warehouse - The order is in the warehouse being picked now

Order on Dock - order is packed and ready and waiting for the carrier to pick it up

Order Shipped - the order has shipped and the carrier is bringing your order to you

Order on Hold - we have had to place your order on hold for some reason - please call or email us for details.

Order Cancelled - this order has been cancelled at the ordering party's request.

I wouldn't be supprised to see something like :

We sent Bob down to the corner store to get a cardboard box for your order, he hasn't come back yet (we think he may have stopped at the bar along the way) as soon as he gets back we'll see if we can find Tim and have him put your order in the box (just as soon as Bill can find your order). Is October good for you?

I guess until I get my pinpointer, I'll also be...fixin' to get ready.

This is my first time dealing with them. Anyone else ever buy anything from Southern-Treasures?

If that's Brian from down in Alabama, he is a SUPER guy to deal with.
Hope you get good service and do business with him again.

Re: Fixin' to get ready

I checked on my order again and they're still fixin to get ready...(Order Received, Prepairing to Process your Order). If the status doesn't change by tomorrow, (It will be a week) then I'll email them and ask what the problem is. Maybe they just didn't update their website. (I would call, but I don't want to wake anybody up.)

Being from N.Y. I'm, by nature, a little impatient. That is to say, if I order something online today, I would expect to receive it no later than yesterday. And even then I would wonder what took them so long.

So it makes it even harder for me when someone says "Relax, stop and smell the flowers." I say "I don't have time, I was here two months ago when they were fertilizing. I smelled the cr@p, does that count?"

All kidding aside, I was a little concerned whether or not the site was reptuable. My order number is only four digits long, and doesn't seem to be going anywhere, so thanks for your replys. At least this concern has been allayed.

Some Postal Stations Don't bother Putting in the Info.

Also Depending on what Service used.
like "Bulk" I have heard it can sit a couple days
before they ship out.
7 to 10 days isn't unusual unless it is shipped
first class or Priority.

Don't count saturdays, Sundays or Hollidays.

Re: Fixin' to get ready

I emailed Southern-Treasures on Saturday, and asked if there was any problems with my order. Brian got back to me right away and told me that the order went out on Monday, that he didn't know why it wasn't there yet, and even included a pic of the shipping label.

I thought that was pretty cool and, replied that "in the mail is much better than backordered, and thanks".

Today I went to the P.O. and there's my order (I thought it was coming by UPS). As soon as I got back I sent Brian another email to let him know that I got it, to thank him and that it was "My bad"; thinking it was coming UPS. It was, more than likely, there on Friday.

So, as Burt and Ivan both said Brian is a really good guy. And I didn't catch anyone asleep down there. As a matter of fact I was the one who was asleep.

uhh... is my face still red? Bluezman
