its a worm shocker I believe.....add electricity to each knob and start collecting worms that come up.

Looks to me like they are 2 parts of a beam divider. Similar to a beam compass. They would slide along a round shaft and you could adjust they to a set measurement.
If you knew what the limit size that you were fishing for you could slide it along a fishing rod and set it. Is is an odd way to use them though.
What puzzles me most is the small thumb screw bracket that joins them together. It wouldn't work as a shocker if they were connected.

Great ID Garren!!

Margmtz, yours may not be as shiny and new looking, but otherwise they look to be in great shape and they are more complete than the ones at the website posted, as yours has the orginal clip to store the two points together, the beam can be made from any piece of wood however long you need it to be!!!

I have an old set of trommel points, but they aren't as ornate as these are.
