No they come out pretty clean, a few people had there programs tweeked for iron reading / discrimination as I recall.

The only thing I'm aware of was a few people were saying that they had problems with an intermittent short in the external speaker when they unplug their headphones. My understanding is that it comes and goes and it's not a huge deal.

Mine is serial # 10085250 - new in 2008 and I've had no problems if that helps.

I had one last year that only lasted less than a week and the display went bad.
