Fisher Has New Home?

That may have something to do with the intro of the T2 and the dropping of one of Fisher's better selling detectors? Perhaps this will enhance the reputation of Bounty Hunter and improve the line of the other detectors. May be a good thing after all. Monty

Man! I hope not!! Bounty Hunter could of improved their equipment long ago, but failed to do so. If this sale is true, I hate to think what they will do to one of the top 5 brands of detectors. Did you ever see the first Technetics detector after Bounty hunter took them over? What a piece of junk!!!
Looked like one of those $39.95 detectors that are sold on Ebay.
I live a 100 miles from Fisher. I might just go down and find out first hand.
If I do i'll post what I found out. HH

I hope fisher does not go the way of gibson guitars in the 70s,or Harley Davison after AMF.

It is not true. It is amazing how quickly these rumors spread on the internet. A chance conversation is quickly spread to thousands of internet viewers.

Well I do know Bounty Hunter owns Technetics. If you want any info on the T2 you have to go to Bounty Hunter. Monty

Are you sure about this George? If you have the facts I need to let some folks know about this because it has worked all through the other forums.

And too, why would anyone start something like this?

If true, I will be depressed. I TRIED to help them market their hobby machines. (they did well here at TreasureNet under the guidance of Jim Lewellen) The new president didn't seem to understand or appreciate the power or popularity of TreasureNet! :-( I was always waiting for their call (or preferably -- email ;))

I thought they made some of the best detectors. (and our ad rates are CHEAP) :-(

I don't know if this is true or not. But I will say that if it isn't true, a lot of big people in this game were sure hoodwinked on this one.

Actually it wouldn't surprise me if the "rumor" were true (or will be in coming months).

The job situation is not good in America. I think hobbyist who maybe would buy the high-ticket machines are now opting for the lower cost detectors because they're not sure they'll have a job in the near future.

I think Garrett's strategy with the Ace series was absolutely in tune with the times and brilliant. It is sort of the "Mustang" of the detector business. Garrett proved that a US based company can market a good machine for $200 and still make a profit.

Now Tesoro needs to take their Cibola technology and compete with Garrett.

Anyway, what I'm saying is the times in which we're living are going to change many companies and drive others out of business. I really like Fisher machines but unless they (and the other major brands) can follow Garrett and make a good machine for a much lower price, they're toast.

Just my point-of-view.

This was discussed on the Geotech forum. The folks here are usually in the know. Read this thread. The majority view point
expressed here is that is was just a rumour that got out of control. Notice that no "Facts" have emerged.

Actually the real story is that Whites's is going to merge with Bounty Hunter.
Their new machines will be called Whitebootyhunters.

I don't run a Fisher just now but I do really hope they hang in there. I've got my eye on that CZ-3D. ;)
