I have a F 75 purchased used from a friend/detector dealer. Still trying to master it but pretty confident on settings/balancing & able
to locate on a regular basis But: after a short bit of hits the machine becomes jumpy, hitting all over the place. Then nothing
becomes stable or keeps a permanent setting. So I have to reset/default then start all over for a clean screen. Do I have a loose wire in the machine? Is it possible this thing got beat up/dropped/ or damaged? any ideas? I will mention that the screen died on me with the Batt signal never showing low until I replaced batt & it worked again still showing solid Batt signal...

I run sensitivity at 60-65 most of the time, what are you using? Do you know how to change frequency (F1 - F7)? Do you hunt in all metal or do you use discrimination?

Does yours have DST? or the FA process? Do you have boost mode?

Hey thanks Loco for the questions. I had not checked the frequency & think that might have helped. I was set on F3 & reset @ 6. It cut the chatter down
quite a bit, but will recheck on location soon as I tend to hunt various sights with overhead lines & salt water trashy areas. Might help to keep my
phone from my hip pocket too huh? lol.... I change sensitivity from 60-85 depending on soil density or location. I should learn to work it on lower levels. I do not have the upgraded DST version, just FA process. The upgrade might improve the chatter more from what I've read. I'm also having to get used to the sensitivity of this machine

It is my understanding that if you have the FA process you have a DST model, you just may not have boost (BP) mode.

As LD said, adjusting the sensitivity of the F75 will usually correct any erratic behavior. You have to adjust it every trip out. Good luck with it. It is a great detector!

The f75 is a very chatty machine and it hates EMI, ie; overhead wires.....drop the sensitivity and it should work ok.

With all it's good points it loves bottle caps so be forewarned.
