I am taking a big hit and offering my Fisher F4 with a NEL Big coil,(15X18 (Trash can lid)), Garrett headphones, Two covers to keep rain and sand off the box and the stock coil.
One cover is black with a hole for the ground balancing knob. Having this over the knob keeps you from accidentally hitting the knob as you hunt or go back from all metal to discriminate with the use of one button. The other cover covers more of the box and is camouflage colored. It is not hard to see the readouts with both of these covers on.
Also, with this coil, I did not seem to lose depth with the discrimination mode on to stop iron targets making noise. So you can have it quiet and not miss great targets. You can go back and forth from all metal to discriminate with the touch of one button.
I got this setup to hunt the beaches in the Gulf but I never got the chance to go. This setup does allow for deeper hunting for Civ through leaf thatch and soil. I have actually hit targets two feet down with damp soil. So, this might be a great beach detector for ocean hunting. The covers should work to keep sea spray and sand out of the box unit. The covers velcro on and off very easily. These two covers work well together to keep dampness & rain off of this unit which is not waterproof. A sudden rainstorm is not a problem if you are in the woods and have to get back to the vehicle. I suppose that these two covers would keep sea salt spray from eroding the connectors to the unit. I am just guessing on that.
I used this setup on Lake Lanier beaches locally and it kept the sand from the unit box as I thought it would. I also got deep targets on the Lake beach. I had used a Sovereign the year before and I got targets that the Sovereign with a round 12 inch Sun Ray coil missed.
I have used this detector about once or twice a week during the past fall & past Winter. I don't hunt in the heat.
I got this for Civ and the beach and I did get a lot of Civ in places that have been hunted a lot in the Atlanta area.
For this whole setup, I will have to ship the coil and the detector separately I think. The coil is just too big for a box plus the detector box. I will pay for shipping.
I want $420.00 and I have a PayPal account. This detector has been used less than a year. I have this listed on Ebay for $470.00. It costs 10% just to sell on EBay. I would love to sell it here to a newbie or a pro for a lower price with all these great accessories included.
One last point...... This NEL Big coil is a game changer for this F4 detector. Ground balancing is easier and mineralized soils are not an issue like it is with the stock coil. The stock coil for a Fisher F4 can not handle mineralized soils. This coil changes that. This coil also changes the digital readouts for targets. The digital reading does not fluctuate like it did with the stock F4 coil in these Georgia soils. This should be also true with ocean beaches having mineralized beach sands.
The Fisher F4 stock coil may be great for areas where there is not a high mineralization in the soil. Once I got my Big coil I never took it off. This coil is that good and discriminates really well even though it is a huge coil.
You can cover a lot of beach with this huge trash can lid coil!
NEL coils are worth the money for any detector, in my opinion, since I have had this good experience with a, worthless in Georgia, stock coil that changed this F4 into a monster hunting unit that pinpoints with dead accuracy. The stock coil was all over the place in Georgia's mineralized soil.
$420.00 and the whole package is yours.
