fisher f2 or garrett ace250

I may be a little biased since I'm a huge fan of Garrett but for the money you won't find a better machine for the price than the 250. It has good depth and is extremely easy to use. It's great for a beginner or a seasoned detectorist. I'm not saying the Fisher isn't all that since I don't have any experience with one but I can guarantee you won't be disappointed with the 250. It does everything they claim and with their affordable accessory coils it really becomes a highly versatile and upgradeable machine. Hope this helps.

Well if there's no difference should I just go with the cheaper one.

What Terry said.

I prefer the the F2 with 4" sniper coil.
If you're going to detect trashy areas, the F2 with the two or three coil package is the way to go.

You still can't go wrong with either detector.

The f2 is a little faster, and lighter with better balance.ive used the 150 for2-3 yrs and the f2 6 months.
course if I woulda got the f2 first I might like the 150 better.

the garrett is built stronger

check out a white's coin master, the white's will be easier on batteries than the 250, and give you a better option.
the f2 is a 5.9 khz. the 250 is a 6.5 and the white's is 8.0 the white's gets you closer too nickels AND gold and be a little bit pickier on smaller treasures plus hammers coins
for a 179.00 that a good deal listen to a white's then go listen to the others and you will see that the white's sound a lot like a detector should...happy picken...
