I have a Pioneer 505 and was wondering if I would benefit from having the DD coil. Anyone have any experience with this combination? I don't want to purchase it and find out my 8 inch concentric does just as well. Thanks

if ur in high mineralized ground u will benefit from the dd coil otherwise the concentric will be deeper and discriminate better.

I've used the DD's on the 3300 and the 2200, you will get better separation and targeting, and the sweep is bigger. Quite frankly almost any good quality DD coil, really turns them into a different machine. I would recommend it. I think it has been worth the cost for me.

At times I am in the dry to damp sand at the beach (saltwater) so I am guessing the coil will help me a bit. Going to buy it after the first of the year I think.

Go for it

I've got a Pioneer 505 and bought the 11"DD coil for it. It goes deeper than the stock 8" coil.
I gained 1 to 2 inches in depth over the stocker and it allows me to search a large area quicker,
plus it's better in target separtion and it's better in highly mineralized ground like I've got in my
area. Get it and you won't regret it. It's the best upgrade I made for my 505.
