I flooded the battery compartment on my 1280 (ok, several times). This last time, I put the batteries in and it started up for about 10 seconds then shut down. I opened the electronic part and found that it too had moisture, NO WATER, but, rust on several things.

MY question is: Can this be fixed? I know that it probably can, but for what price??

You might try drying it out with a hairdryer and see if it will run the circuit board may be shorted. If after drying it works get some electrical contact cleaner and try to get the rust out. Dan
