Fisher 1220 X

Just a thought. Just bought an old Fisher 1220 X for 75.00 shipped. I know that parts are rare if it breaks and it's an older machine but, still, do you think it was a dumb move? I needed a little something for my wife to use so that she doesn't get bored when she goes out with me and she insisted that I not spend a lot. I did not want to end up with the complete no names(Treasure Hunter, Private Eye, I've seen some odd ones) so I went with the old Fisher. Do you think it was worth it or a waste?

Another question...has anyone heard of this machine? Several views and no response. The silence is making me nervous. This thing better be okay or I might be in trouble.

Thanks Willy. I feel better now. My wife doesn't need bells and whistles, just a little beep beep. Thanks again. I can breathe a bit easier about my decision to buy it for her now.--Newline

The Fisher 1220 is still a good machine and probably is still under warranty. Either way, Fisher still repairs them if anything happens to it.

It's more important that your wife just go with you. Later if she wants, there are newer machines out there that don't cost and arm and a leg.

If it's the one with the handle on a big box. It's getting pretty dated. If it's the one with the meter above the S shaped handle. It's a nice little machine and should give you good results. HH

Thanks for making me feel better guys. We should see in the next couple of days because it should be arriving any day now. I'm sure my wife will like it.
