Trying to figure out how this would be worn? It measures 2" long x 1 1/4" wide.

I'm thinking it would be worn in the hair? Appears to have bears in the corners.
I'm not sure when it was made, but I suspect it was an early piece.
Might be able to date it based on how they marked the back.

looks like a hair clip to me, edit on second thought it may be for a sash/scarf?
