youtube video at end of paragraph,, this man needs a BANNER, he deserves it, :)
Well this fish hook could not have been found by a better person. He has had some halts on hunting with us last two months, but today my good buddy found this AMAZING killer!! He thought it was your everyday little root when he touched it with his trowl and it came out. I did not get to see his exitment but i do believe if i saw it i would have seen him doing back flips and over and over.He watches these forums everyday and im sure would love to see some good responses . thanks everybody very much, beleive me this reversed his month a little.

i dont think he can get a banner cause he is not a member, but thanks everyone he kicked but on this peice. maybe i will get him a account and he can post it then

that is a rare and nice find
this kind of fish hook is usually broke as it is made from a turkey (or round bird bone and is very brittle,
about half of the ND hooks are made in this way with the other made in pairs from split rib bone
something interesting to me is the top of he shank which has a larger bulb for tying to the string
the ones we find here have grooves around the shank to prevent slippage from the line it was connected to
i hardly ever see bone hooks on here
that is way cool

why thanks larson, i have seen the ones with the lines u have talked about. i found a ovalished shaped polished bone and found out it was a preform to a fish hook, thanks for the knowledge of the bone used, it made his day after having some bad ones

Me and Gator were just talking about them. It is true that they are very rare. $250 in that condition. And I disagree about eBay. There are excellent vendors there. Serious people win serious artifacts. I have a few favorites. Right now one of them have a few Florida spear points I would buy in a heartbeat if I had the $3500. For the two of them.

I'm just a bit more of a purest. I don't even like seeing a number with a dollar sign next to something like that. To me ... I don't even own these artifacts of someones life.I've just been given the honor of keeping them safe for a time. I've never traded money for a single one. I wouldn't.

I'm with you 100%. I think what you said here is banner worthy !
