tonight after my outback steak ( yuummm) I went to Gander mountain here on northside of Indy.
Had many shotguns and rifles and handguns, new and used. ( I liked the used Winchester 30-30) Also has shelves full of handgun and rifle ammo. I can't say if the prices were normal or high, but there was all you could want. So if you have trouble in your area, come shop in Indy.

I have no idea,i havent shopped for ammo in a while.Cant go wrong grabbing any .22 longrifle you find.There might come a time when 50 rounds of .22 longrifle will feed a family of 3 for a week by bartering.

A new cabelas opened with well stocked shelves. Guy on t.v. covering first day said due to volume of chains sales they receive orders.
Locally .223,410 both shot and slug and many pistol calibers thin. .22 too.

Just to tell you a .22 is one of the worst to get hit with.A .22 wont break bone,bone will deflect it.Result if youre hit in the pelvis with a .22 the bullet could end up in your heart.Though not an absolute man stopper,its very far from being a toy.

Very true story . My best friend while growing up , lost his older brother to an accidental shooting . He was being handed a small trapper 22 revolver . When he pulled it from his buddies hand it went off . The 22 ( mini cap ) entered his armpit and bounced around his ribcage then lodged in his heart . He died 2 hours later in the hospital .

Same here (temporarily). On the other hand, mine is about like shooting a .22 short. 1,200 fps will take small game --- and damn near whisper quiet.

yep, my SHTF weapon is the 22. I have thousands of rounds of long rifle for the semi-auto including mini-mags and stingers. I also have many rounds of longs and sub-sonic shorts for "quiet" shooting; mostly small game. Of course there are long range rifles, pistols, shotguns and semi-auto rifles to go along with the mix.
