First Wheatie & more Korean war relics
I finally found my first wheatie 1948 D. I headed to the far end of the base about a five mile walk(one way) spent abount five hours following old trenches from the Korean war.I found three 50 cal shells, fired of course. But as I was coming up from one of the hills, I got a pretty strong signal about 8 inches down found three more 50 cal shells, LIVE ONES!!! I was very hesitant to even touch them. I moved them to a safe area and just sat thinking damn!! I should have brought my camera and I had no plans on carrying them out of there, NO WAY!!! but the thought did cross my mind and then I thought, What if they go off in my bag? or my hand. No more MDing and I can't risk that, what would my detector think of me. I am going back tommorow to get some pics of the area I hunted and pics of the shells. I'll keep everyone posted.Be safe out there.
