First week with new Bountyhunter Quick Draw II Metal Detector

Hello All,

I'm new to detecting, but I had a good first week with my new detector. My first day out I found only scrap metal in my yard, but my second day out I found 3 coins around a large tree in my front yard! The oldest coin was a 1966 Lincoln penny, so it wasn't a big deal. My last outing resulted in a 1946 wheat penny! I'm heading in the right direction. Anyone know of any good areas to metal detect for old coins in the Boston area or southern NH and ME?

Check where ever the top soil is removed, sidewalks replaced and old houses torn down. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the tip. One of the sites where I found the wheat penny is currently a counstruction site that someone I know is developing. Right now it is just an empty lot, but there is an old foundation there of what looks like was an old shed or small garage. I only found scrap right around the foundation, but I found the wheat penny at the back of the lot near the edge of the property line.
