I re-read your post and I think you are requesting tips on how to legally secure places to hunt, tips on asking permission, etc.

Read your treasure hunters Code of Ethics first, then go back and read it again. Do some research on your area to locate the best places to hunt. Old maps and the internet are valuable resources.
When asking permission it's best to do it in person. If that's not possible, call at a reasonable hour or even write a letter or email as a last resort. I try to learn what I can about a new site so I can show the property owners that I took the time to research the area. NEVER use words like DIG, DIGGING, DUG, HOLE, HOLES, etc. Agree in advance on who keeps what. Once you have secured a place to detect, THANK, THANK, THANK, the owners! Bring them a Key Lime pie, or a gift card to a local restaraunt.
Always leave the property better than you found it. Take all trash out with you. If you gotta smoke, field dress your butts. Treat the whole thing like you are interviewing for a job.
If you are denied permission, thank the owner anyway. You never know, they might change their mind and if you were anything but cordial, you just blew your chance.
There is more but I'll let the other folks chime in.

i agree, you DON"T need any help. that's way more silver than i've found, and this is starting my 4th year at it.

That 'Buff' came out great, what I need from you is your soil 8)
