Nice points bead and thumb scrapers T Witko. You guys have been hammered with the rain. That field should lay down good.

hey hey moderator partner
you are right
but we gotta keep looking real hard and real fast cuz the weeds are really gonna start and then we will have no choice but to flip the ground once more and hope we get a few inches of rain again

Hey that buffalo head point is really cool, nice find.

i just noticed that the krf point next to the buffalo head point is also a very much re-sharpened point and imo very interesting
when you think about it the re-sharpening/re-notching methods were used much more than we used to think

hey hey tnet friends.....
.....i just saw partner twitko at the site and got to see the 'buffalo head point'
so any how twitko decides to take a great backlit image of it since the sun was good
......well we made a dsicovery that i will let my good friend tell you about......a hint (it is regarding the type of lithic)

larson1951

i am hoping T Witko posts the backlit image
then you will see what kind of material it is

kelly it is one of the coolest flaked pieces i have seen this year.....thanks for bringing it to the site so i could check it out

Thanks Steve and here's the backlight photo. After getting some sun behind it we could see this piece is petrified wood not KRF. If you look closel, you can see the wood-grain. I think we're we're still thinking it is a Buffalo Gap type point.

you know dennis makes me think about the effigy idea but i am still thinking a heavily resharpened and showing a lot of wear
some times i think lookingbill variant but i don't mean to ramble on about it.....

......one thing or sure is that it rules

OK now I see what you mean by buffalo head. I do think they looked at different things when they made their points. I know some around here look like the leafs on the trees by shape. That sure is a good looking point.

Killer find there T Witko, I say buffalo effigy too and pet wood! Wow!

you guys have some nice artifacts up there thanks for sharing always a great post comming from ya two.
