Got out to another old park on my lunch break today. Kinda hard to do much diggin in 30 minutes. But I call this a successful hunt I noticed an old roadway that ran along the park. And first good signal was a 1919 wheat. So yup in the right spot Managed another 2 wheaties. A 1945. And a 1928. And then had a good strong signal at the base of an old stump. Out pops a 1900 v-nickel I can't wait to spend some more time hitting this park. Obviously. This area has been overlooked by the 20 other guys that hunt this place Good luck and HH

Nice save. I have no V nickels... so I am jealous. GL&HH.

Thanks guys. It's kinda rough. Just gonna clean a little more dirt off. And that's it

Bob

Work them tree stumps brother I have made so many good finds searching them congrats on your first V..

Congrats man the rest will come much easier. When that place dies all out I bet there's a few more keepers in those woods.

Nice find. That's still on my bucket list.

Sweet find.

Nice find.
I found my fist and only V nick a while back but yours looks WAY better than mine. It was coated in heavy, thick rust.

Congrats.

I think your right. Everybody has been working the park where you found the half dime. So time to get the goodies from this one. The weeds are dying out quickly. Even the farm site is almost clear now. Time for some fun!!

Yeah finding that bust dime sent a barrage of hunters to that place. I gotta be more discreet about where I'm finding stuff. To many guys come out of the wood work once they here of good finds being made. Keep at it man your doing well with the limited time you get to hunt.

Still looking for my first! Congrats

Never seems to fail...

If you detect a really hard hit place, dig all the signals especially anything that reads in low like nickels. There is a well hit church that I have detected twice. The last time, I found two nickels one was a 1941 and the other is a 1951. The first time I found two nickels in the 40s and a 1890s British coin that range in low. I need to call the place "nickel church" because I haven't found much anything else, but I think I have a total of about a dozen nickels dating from the 40s on up.

That other park looks like swisscheese now lol

I went on Sunday for 2 hrs and didn't find 1 coin

Giving that park a break for a while.

Working on locating the other 2 foundations I told you about. Might try and locate them this weekend. I will let you know

All the parks in pittsburgh have at least 1 person a day hunting them. It's amazing how many good finds we still get daily. I can't even comprehend the amount of hours spent checking these parks since detextors became available. But yet old rare silver still pops out every now and then even a gold coin was found at one of the parks last month.
So I will say it again no site is ever hunted out!!

Lol yeah that place was looking like a herd of gofpers ran through it. That worried me though. To many holes were being dug by to many people. It was just a matter of time before we got thrown out. We had a big silver day today in a area I've been working. The parks are never hunted out. There just hunted hard. My brother dug a 62 franklin today as soon as we started. I was like damn.

We should be ok there. I was talking to one of the groundskeepers the other day and it didn't bother him one bit. We talked about how much trash we have been pulling out of there. And he seemed grateful

Congrats on the silver honey hole. It's been so long since I pulled silver I can't remember what the tones sound like lol. Lunch hunt got a lone 26 wheat today
