Desperate to try somewhere new, I took TK's idea as inspiration & asked to try a farmers horse field. It still has the 3 horses in it which is why I haven't bother before. I don't normally like doing fields with animals in but its now my last option.

3.5 hours.

Started well with the first coin being a 1834 silver Shilling.

When I dug a poor 1670s farthing at only 3inches I thought it might have once been ploughed (good news), and after finding a plough shear I now know it is!

Nothing very old but at least I've extended the options for a few weeks.

Once again, some amazing finds! Is the green object a bird band? You may be able to report it to your wildlife folks over there and get some information about it. I'm sure they would appreciate it too.

That was a good hunt! I have a few horse pastures with permission but I have not had to do them yet. The horses are kind of nosy, I detected along the outside fence a few times and they come over to watch, LOL, I don't know what they would do if I were inside the fence line. HH, Mike

Might have the makings of a good field that :icon_sunny:
