Finally broke down and got one of those Ace 250's everyone raves about, and I must agree that it is as good as advertised. Got mine new from the friendly folks at Cleavengers mail order service for only $199 total. At first I was a bit skeptical on whether or not i was going to like it but after a short while I realised I was really missing out on a lot with my old reliable Bounty Hunter Ex.
First spot to break it in was right down from the house in a church lot basically picked clean by myself which resulted in around $3 clad and pennies I know I must have walked over at least a hundred times before with nary a bleep.
Second spot was right across the road in an old hay field I also done to death bringing me my first good luck charm:
Kinda hard to see, but says Ben Franklin Store Good Luck Charm on front, and really smooth on back but can still see it says A Penny Saved Is A Penny Earned. Lol, words to live by.
My last stop of the day was cut short, but resulted in my oldest wheatie. A 1910, but pretty green.
Still liked it though.
Also found this part of a old copper/bronze? Cap pistol not to far away, but around 6 inches deep
Neat saddle and Cowboy design on it with the words Mini Rayo on either side. Anybody got a date range on these kinda toy pistols in copper? Thanks.
Been singing praises to the 250 all day today to people I work with, lol. Can't wait till next weekend to try all the other spots I'd given up on.
