FIRST TIMER WITH THE GOLDBUG 2

First timer. Gold Bug 2. Little creek not far from where I live. Spent about an hour in the creek using the detector and the pan. Not sure if I found gold, but there were a couple of yellow specks I saw but couldn't recover.
Plenty of black sand. Found some junk.
Here's what I learned:
1. Wear rubber boots, not sneakers.
2. Bring the headphones...this machine is not very loud.
3. Learn how to use the sniffer bottle....lost some yellow flakes.
4. Practice ground balance...pretty sure I got it right, but not positive
5. Practice panning.
6. Wear a back brace...self explanatory
7. Keep smilin'... this is pretty cool and I think I am going to be an addict.
