Well today I was finally able to get out and do a little detecting with the Legend. It was an interesting morning trying to figure out what was what but I did do some digging. I wouldn't call it a successful hunt but a learning one. Here are the vast treasures that I managed to coax from the earth. Hunted a local park old home that I'm sure has hit pretty hard over the years. Found mostly junk but I did manage to get a 1945? wheat penny.

Dean, your finds look like you are getting your detector set up to find the good stuff. A little more refinement and you will be spot on. If you are doing it right you will still be finding junk, but the better stuff will come with time and patience. Stay safe, goo luck and keep swingin.

Not bad. The Legend is a great machine when you work with it for a while. You can definitely find good stuff with it!

Looks like someone had cherry picked before you dug but by getting all the signals they passed you will probably find something good they missed because they were cherry picking only certain signals.

You did great! The fact you found a wheatie where others have pounded proves it. It took me several weeks to find my first wheatie. Seven years later, I literally have thousands! It's all about persistence and finding the spots other detectorists haven't hoovered everything up.
But don't think there's nothing left where you were today. That new detector can sniff out things old detectors simply couldn't pick out of the iron and junk. That may be part of the reason you found that wheat!
Excellent job. When you find that first silver coin, you'll be hooked for sure (took me three months. I've dug somewhere around 400 since then)!

With all the bad weather, you were able to get out at all - congrats !

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Nice going, keep at it! The more time you spend with Legend the more you'll get to understand what it's saying to you (as with any detector).
