First posting:
got home in afternoon to find that my Fisher F2 metal detector was delivered.
Very little time before dark so I just went out for a trial without reading the instructions.
Nothing I found deserves a photo.
Park location:
-Found incredibly small piece of foil 4 inches deep.
-Buried beer can.
-two memorial cents.
-In one hole with coin was a huge piece of Quartz which I kept since I had to dig it out.
-Saw next to path interesting bright yellow mushroom unsure what kind it was.
-underground wires - approx 4 inches deep (cut but sure I did not do this as they were stripped back)
-circular item with square hole in middle rolled under edges. maybe some writing but was unabale to read. (need to get magnifying glass)
school yard near my home:
Switched to small coil for testing.
- Dug up a 1980 quarter and memorial cents near bus loading zone.
- some copper foil which I guess was from roofing?
- another underground wire - still intact near a tree - seemed like a phone cable.
Dirt was hard clay so I was glad I bought a metal digger at lowes.
Need to do more research on how pinpointing works. Seems I always had to widen my holes to get to the object.
I have already found as much as I did with bounty hunter model 10 years ago. Will try again on monday I think.
