Detector(s) used
Bounty Hunter Tracker IV, ACE250
I got out with my new ACE250 last night about 9pm. I hit up the local park and detected the sand underneath the kiddie playground. I found quite a few clad and surprisingly a 1956 (no mint mark) wheatie in beautiful condition, nice patina and absolutely no scratches anywhere. I was kind of surprised at finding this. Overall, I found about 10 pennies, 2 quarters, a nickel, a toy car, and a AA battery. I was getting much deeper signals, but couldn't dig them because about 4 inches under the sand there was a black landscaping mat. Under that there was wood chips, so I'm thinking that there are a bunch more coins, that I won't get because of the mat. I won't go so far as to wreck the mat to get to the coins. That'd be unethical, right? These finds were in only about 15 minutes because it started to rain after I got there. The V4 pinpointer worked well too. Overall, I'm getting the hang of this detector really quickly and the pinpointer was a great investment! I'll try to get a pic of the wheatie on here when I get home from work.

Congrats on your first outing with the Ace 250! I believe many great days are ahead and lots of goodies to come!!

So the ACE250 works well for you,i have enough saved to buy one but I'm trying to hold out until i can get a White's detector as well, winters on it's way here anyhow. The The V4 pinpointer is that a long probe type like the V2?(is what I'm using) if it is be careful because they will snap in half right about the middle.

Congrats on your finds

Yep, the V4 does have a long plastic probe. You're right, one should be careful because it is not really strong at that length. I loosen the dirt and then probe with it through the loose soil. I don't want to break it yet. Well, time to put some new batteries in the headlamp and get back down to the tot lot for a little late-night hunting.

Congrats! I just had my first real day of detecting with my new 250 this last weekend. Great machine and easy to learn.

Reminds me of my first day using the ACE, the UPS guys came by and after spending some time with my daughter, I ran out the house like at 10pm to give the 250 a swing. You did very well, seriously. I know your confidence level is good after making those finds.....it's a good machine and you will find more. I still use mine. WTG bro.
