I got out with my new ACE250 last night about 9pm. I hit up the local park and detected the sand underneath the kiddie playground. I found quite a few clad and surprisingly a 1956 (no mint mark) wheatie in beautiful condition, nice patina and absolutely no scratches anywhere. I was kind of surprised at finding this. Overall, I found about 10 pennies, 2 quarters, a nickel, a toy car, and a AA battery. I was getting much deeper signals, but couldn't dig them because about 4 inches under the sand there was a black landscaping mat. Under that there was wood chips, so I'm thinking that there are a bunch more coins, that I won't get because of the mat. I won't go so far as to wreck the mat to get to the coins. That'd be unethical, right? These finds were in only about 15 minutes because it started to rain after I got there. The V4 pinpointer worked well too. Overall, I'm getting the hang of this detector really quickly and the pinpointer was a great investment! I'll try to get a pic of the wheatie on here when I get home from work.
