Hello all,

I just went out with my newly aquired Tesoro Tejon to a local park that I have hit pretty hard in the past. I was out there a couple of hours and had a blast. I forgot how much fun the Tesoro's are to use (before my XLT I had a Bandido II).

I came away with a decent amount of clad and one 55-D wheatie, plus a first for me, a brass zippo lighter!! It was pure black when it came out of the ground, but with a little bit of brass polish and elbow grease, I think it came out looking really good.

Hope you all had a great weekend hunting!

Brandon

Nice finds. The lighter I believe is from Marlboro cigs from the miles promotion. I have one somewhere. WTG.

Brandon,
Great job on your finds. I too own a Tesoro, and love it. They are great lightweight machines. Looking forward to seeing more.

Good stuff ,I am gonna have to take one of those Tejons for a spin one of these days.

Good deal. Glad you like the Tejon. I bought one this summer based on good reviews. Was disappointed in it. Weight about the same as the DFX. Easy to use but lacked depth with discrimination up. Very hot on iron with discrimination even at nickel setting. I ended up selling it for $65 more than what I paid so no harm done. Still hear good reviews so I wonder if I had a "bum" machine....

You had to have had a bad machine. The disc on mine is perfect. As for the depth, I hit a small piece of tin at 8" with the 5.75" widescan coil.

Bob,
It was more than likely operator error. It takes a highly trained individual (like myself) to fully understand and know how to use the Mighty Tesoro.
Sorry, I should have warned you to put your boots on before reading this. ;D

Nice going on the hunt. Just goes to show, Zippo lives to Strike another day! By the way, the whole Tesoro line of detectors are Great. It's just one of the many brands I use, so I'm not putting one brand over another.
HH to all of you out there.......

Don't worry Dave, I'll get you on your next post! ;D :D

Haven't had the pleasure of using a Tejon but I LOVE my Deleon! It is a good machine and I have dug one silver coin at 8-9 inches with it. Not bad if you ask me and I can almost not tell I'm swinging it because of its weight and balance.

Good job, nice lighter.

See, I told you it was operator error. The name is Doug (as in DUG), not Dave.
You must be thinking of that Dave Ridley character? The guy that TRYS to keep up with my Mighty Tesoro. ::)
Bob, I know what it's like to lose your memory. ;D
