Very new to MD and took my just purchased Cibola out this morning. Found many, many pull tabs and bottle caps, but as I was digging what I thought would probably be another tab, I found a 14K ladies ring with three small diamonds in it. The depth of the dig was a solid 7 inches. Took it to a trusted jewelry shop and the owner verified the diamonds were real! Appraised at approx. $100-$150. Beginner's luck I know, but I'll take it! If I can figure out how to post the pic, I'll add it later.

I really have enjoyed this forum. Always something out there to learn!

Centexhunter,

Well that's it you've just swallowed the bait, hook, line and sinker....once you find gold there's no going back...lol.

Regards + HH

Nice, envious, and congrats!

Don't doubt that it's beginners luck! It's amazingly a real thing, now comes the fun part of digging **** for another month. I'm currently in the process of upgrading from my cibola...

Wooo-Hooooo! Congratulations on your first Cibola gold!!!! :occasion14:

Thanks guys. I was with my 9 yr old son, so of course, he can't wait to go back. I told him that we'll probably be out MANY, MANY times before we would be lucky like that again, but he doesn't care...looks like I've got a huntin' buddy!!

Nice finds!! Had a chance to buy a used cibola for $325.00 close to home. Needed the money for other things..like rent etc..LOL HH

Centex Hunter please get a 2nd. opinon on that ring,I think it should be worth more.

thats why i dont mind pulltabs weeehoooo!

The cibola is a fantastic machine. Great for deep woods relic hunting . Merry Christmas to you with that nice ring. :icon_thumright:

I'm still learning...

I agree to recheck the price, the gold melt value alone is probably 150 dollars on that(not including what the diamonds maybe worth). I found a gold ring on my 2nd time out with a Cibola, had it checked at several different shops for melt value then finally took it to one i trusted (a coin and stamp shop) and they doubled the price for melt value of any other jewelry store.

I'll double check with other places. The jewelry store gave a melt value of $75. Thanks for keeping me on my toes !

Great start with your Cibola! Congrats.
