First time out with Garret AT Pro

Well my daughter and I went out for our first dig here in Lincoln county NC and we had a good time and found one aluminum can piece. We have been given permission to hunt on some land that a church has been on since the early 1800's. I am going through the learning curve of using a metal detector and it can be frustraiting. The ground was hard the signals seemed strong but I think we didn't do a couple of key things in setting up the AT Pro this goes back to the whole theory "if all else fails read the directions".
