First time out with DFX 300. Help with ID Hunk o' Iron

Hello all seems like I am having trouble posting, but one more try. I am finally back to MDing since 1999. Forgive me with my newness. I returned to MDing with a vengeance. Bought a new DX300 and come to you with a find I hope you could ID for me. :tard:
I did a little research on the Revolutionary War period for my area. I live near Chads Ford area so I sought after a pipe dream :icon_jokercolor: of finding a artifact from the Battle of Brandywine c 1777. Yes area is RESTRICTED to MDing. So I imagined another alternative - go further south on Rt 1 (Baltimore Pike) Hey its worth a try I suppose. I found a field off of Rt 1 and it looked like it had some history (secluded too). so i find an OLD dead Oak and did my swinging . Registered a 74 avg on my DFX and dug five inches and pulled out this very heavy hunk of metal (tool)?
Any Idea. I hope this is a first of many posts for me. Nice to be back. Thank you in advance.
