First time out, not a great deal

Today was the first time that David and I took the metal detector out. I was really excited after watching everyone's posts here. We did not get a great deal of things but got $1.41 clad and a 1957 nickel, a little pendant and a silver colored chain. Even found a superball that does indeed beep! lol An interesting assortment of goodies and yep, we are hooked! ~Cyndi~

WOW! How exciting! I went for my 2nd time yesterday and found my first coin, (1c) and even that was a thrill. With all that loot you found, no wonder you're heading right out again tomorrow! What kind of area were you hunting? Park? Beach What a great first day... very encouraging to the rest of us newbies. Thanks for sharing-

I was at the city parks around here....seems the most finds were in the wood chips. Fun though!!

I gotta try out the wood chips! I hear they're easier to dig. Yesterday I went to a resting bench area along a bike path and spent about 20 minutes digging something big and rusty and old and I just knew it was gonna be something good.... it was a big ol' rusty oil filter wrench!! Lol! Well, even though everything else I found was junk, and I was digging in a pretty hard-packed area, it was still like opening presents on Christmas morning- I just got alot of "socks and underwear" this time! Next time, maybe I'll get the Hot Wheels or Etch-A-Sketch I wanted! Good luck tomorrow-

Great Finds. I love the thrill of not knowing what will be popping out of the ground as well. That's what makes this hobby so much fun. It's like having X-mas every time you go out.
