Well today was my first day out. I just bought a cheap bounty hunter machine just to see if I enjoyed the hobby enough before I decided to spend hundreds of dollars. Well I found myself up at sunrise and decided to take out my md to a nearby park. I was only out for about 45 minutes. It wasn't a very productive day found a lot of trash and one penny. LOL a 1987 penny was all i found. Owell I had a great time and look forward to many more mornings out with my md!

Hello Lippy86 and welcome to Tnet and MDing. I remember my first hunt wasn't much to speak about either. However, I did learn more about my machine and took the learning experiences with each hunt and used that in the next. Before you know it the Clad and some jewlery started coming. I am sure that the same will happen with you. I too am an early riser, predawn. Don't give up and keep on searching. I look forward to seeing your future finds posted here. Best Wishes and Happy Hunting (HH).

Welcome Lippy.
Every time you hunt it will get better and better.
Just wait till you find your first ring. Woo Hoo!!!!

Keep diggin'...

It'll get better as you try different areas and keep at it. It's the anticipation of finding something that keeps alot of us going.

Welcome to TNet lippy
Not alot of people find much on their first hunts
i know i didnt
I just got my machine and im still learning pinpointing and the sounds of signals

remember you cant find something that isnt there so maybe you just hunted a bad spot and maybe your pinpointing is off since you just got the maching

Good Luck and HH

Hi Lippy, Welcome to Tnet once you find a couple of nice coins or even a handfull of clad you'll definitely be hooked.

Congrats on your first hunt and finds......you won't forget them. As has been said, most of us do not find much, but it gets better, trust us. I think the highlight of my first hunt was a piece of pipe. What type of BH machine did you purchase? I can tell you that even their most inexpensive models are capable of finding nice stuff. I started out with a BH Discovery 1100 and found some silver coins and other goodies. Press on!

Welcome Lippy! I too purchased an inexpensive Bounty Hunter off of Ebay....It has not let me down yet...I have been very pleased with it...Keep at it, learn the machine, and those finds will come soon enough!
Good luck and HH

Welcome to TNet! The more you get out and know your machine, the better the finds will get. Just don't get discouraged too early in the game. As everything else, it takes time and patients. Keep em coming!

awesome, thanks for all the feedback. the tnet community is so friendly. i look forward to spending some time on here and getting to know you guys and hearing about all your great finds! my machine is a bounty hunter tracker II, the cheapest one they make i think. but hey, i'm only 20 years old, living on my own and trying to go to school! so it'll have to do, atleast til i can save up a couple hundred dollars in clad for a new one! thanks again!

Congrats on your first hunt and maybe just a new penny...but looks like you had fun!!

Give it six months time. You will look back and remember all the times you cussed and
all the times you did a happy dance for a nice find. (You will, however, cuss a bit more
than dance..it's a great hobby!)

It takes time and you'll really love this hobby. Forget starting at the park, try your own lawn, less trash and probably never detected before, even if you live in an apt. complex there alot to be found. Good luck, and pratice and patience pays off.

Welcome to Tnet Lippy. If you will take notice of my backup machine I can tell you that it was that machine that got me hooked. It was also that machine that found my first gold ring, and gold and diamond ring, and gold and diamond and sapphire rings along with a dozen or so sweet mercs and some antique silver jewelry. You keep swinging that machine and you will makes some killer finds.

Best of luck to you on your treasure hunts!!!

I agree with Nash, I started with the first Bounty Hunters and found more silver than you can count, not to mention 2 & 3 cent pieces, etc.
