We found just four coins, but the one that my friend Victor found ( Coin of 1822) is simply beauty.

Also I see a huge rattle snake, and this time I can watch how the vegetal charcoal is produced.

These old houses and other ruins are great area for another visit.

I also share one out of my two hats, I do have this one in the photo and my oldest one 🤪🤣🤣🤣

Almost forget to mention an old ( colony) pendant and thin spoon.

Some time look like is not easy or is not a good business driving around two hours to just found a total of four coins, but is very rewarded to see places that just few people know about them or has visited. In the middle of nowhere. And of course spend good time with friends.

Other thing, pedometer marked 9.5 kms in this adventure.

I think I deserved a couple of glasses of this Brandy, 😎

Great items Jorgeke. That’s one serious snake! I’m surprised at how many times members find a piece of a harmonica. Thanks for the pictures 👍🏼

Interesting trip and great finds. What is the history behind this old town and why did people attempt settle in the area? Seems farming the area is out of the question, or so it seems to me by what I see of the terrain. Was it once a mining area.?

Good looking 'un centavo' 1893; about 5 million minted in Mexico City.
From the series 1869-1897.
And your 1/8th 'octavo' (1822) from Durango is a harder coin to find.
From the series 1821-1823. A milled coin from the Empire of Iturbide.
Note: Durango was called Nueva Vizcaya by the Spanish.

Tamrock

We visited two different places one is a town called Lajas, and down there used to be mines at the time of Spanish people was living there around 1700s. Now they live harvesting and growing cattle. Close to the town where is not an agricultural terrain we found some old ruins. The other place that we visited is far away from the other in another old town. ( secret name for publishing as far as today ) we found a very old “ molino” and vestiges were used to be houses, just marked the square ( houses) with stones. ( cimientos)

You have a good eye, mining around that area, some mining metal scrap there.

Thanks for commenting

How about you? How is the are you detect?

Thank you Don

Yes the 1/8 D was found by my friend and is hard to find. He ws telling me that is specific year that is not common to find. Maybe is that one.

I found the centavo Porfiriano and I like that is not corrosive at all.

I’m pretty sure that in that area we could find cobs, maybe next time.

Thanks, take care yourself

That’s what it’s all about, in my opinion. If I was in it to make money I would have had to quit long ago. Good finds and great post!
Robertk

we are in the same page, it is a hobby, but I don’t lose the fait that one day I could find a container with 50 gold coins🤪
Precious treasure expend time with friends and any adventures we live .

Keep in touch buddy

Where you at ?

Oh I’m way up in Missouri. Long way from you. My wife and I own a few acres down in the Big Bend area of Texas, not too far from the Rio Grande. Beautiful country, probably lots of places to detect if we ever get down that way.
